An active participation of youth in social life guarantees success and progress of our society. In this relation, it is particularly important to develop youth organizations and get our youth to take an active part in the country's political life.
The SDPU(U) follows this principle consistently and with determination giving support in every way possible to its strategic partner - the youth social organization "Ukrainian Social Democratic Youth". The aim of this constructive cooperation is to prepare politicians and administrators that will live and work in Ukraine.
The USDM was created on October 22, 1992 at the Constituent Congress of young social democrats in Donetsk. The basic principles of the USDM functioning are voluntarism, equality of rights, self-government, lawfulness and publicity.
The activity of the organization is varied, multi-faceted and aimed to fully reflect aspirations and tastes of as many members of the union as possible, to provide necessary conditions for their self-perfection and self-assertion. The Union "Ukrainian Social Democratic Youth" is a pan-Ukrainian social organization of young people that support social democracy.
The USDM was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on August 18, 1993. The same year the union became an observer member of the International Union of Socialist Democratic Youth (IUSY). The 3rd Congress of the USDM passed a resolution to enter the Ukrainian National Committee of Youth Organizations. To achieve its goals stipulated in the Statute we actively cooperate with the Social Democratic Party of Ukraine (United) and its faction in the Verkhovna Rada.
